Shared note | [Sloan.ged] Third generation Jessie Christie and his brother, Peter, remained in Ireland. They came to America when the next peak of Irish emmigration around 1729. At this time Peter and James would have been ages 19 and 14 respectively. In 1742 James purchased 80 acres of land in Chester, N.H., not far from Londonderry, where he remained until his death. An item of 1754 "..voted that James Croset and James Christey serve as Dear enspectors" (was there poaching even in those days?) |
