In 1902 William and wife were living with his parents in Moshierville, Town of Wells, Pa. , working with his father. Katherine Lee was born there. Sometime in 1903 they moved to the farm on Dry Run Rd. (Farm built by John Knapp and owned byMorris). where he raised crops and may have had chickens and cows. There was a tobacco shed in the back of the horse barn.
In 1907 (about) William and Jennie moved to Nichols N.Y. where he went into the grocery business with his brother-in-law. This lasted for about one and a half years, then dissolved. The family moved to Elmira on Mt. Zoar St. where Williamworked for a Funeral Director and a delivery service company. Glenn was born at this time. Some time after that they moved into and operated a boarding house on Main St.form a year or two. When Jennies Step-Grandmother Etta Hogaboon becameill and they moved to her home to care for her. There Florence was born. Around the following year they moved back to the farm. (around 1913).
From the account book of Morris Helme Knapp, his father, it shows William, in 1913, buying on credit from his father the following: a pair of horses $400 (probably Nel and Kit), A wagon for $25, and a harness for $46.
In 1914 William purchased, oncredit, a mowing machine and rake for $65.
Then Helen (a beautiful child was born).
Katherine, Edgar and Glenn attended the Dry Run School for Grammer school, Katherine stayed with Morris Knapp for High School.
In 1925 William took the position of Light Maintenance Foreman on the State road, a position he held until retirement in 1948
