[Sloan.ged]Fourth generation
Thomas was only 6 when his father died. His mother remarried and the four younger children grew up in the Quinton family. When he reached his teens he followed his step brother , Hugh, to New Brunswick in hopes of getting free land which hereceived in 1770. He and Molly had three sons. While attempting to return cattle to the mainland, from an island in the river where they had spent their summer, Thomas was drowned. The life of this young "pioneer Settler of New Brunswick"ended at early age of 24 years.
