[Sloan.ged]His Father having married Agnes Canada Christie, the Christie children grew up with him. At age 18 he joined the fortress on Lake Chamoplain which had fallen into the hands of the French during the French and Indian wasr. After two years therehe returned home and married Betsy Christie, daughter of Peter. While in service he found there was free land to be had in Canada and left for New Brunsswick Thomas Christie soon to follow.
